From beginner through to advanced level, The School of Leathercraft offers courses designed to support every stage of your journey, with both group sessions and one-to-one tuition available.

You’ll learn the correct processes and techniques needed to create your own bags, belts, cases, accessories, and more—building skill and confidence along the way.

Whether you’re just starting out, looking to refine your craft, or focusing on a specific project, there’s a course here to suit you. We offer flexible learning options, including individual one-to-one sessions and group workshops, so you can choose the format that works best.

With the exception of group workshops, courses can be booked for single or multiple days to fit your schedule.

Edge Bevelling

Edge bevelling is an essential leathercraft technique used to round and shape the sharp edges of leather for a smoother, more refined finish. By carefully removing the corner of the cut edge with a beveler tool, the leather becomes easier to burnish and takes on a professional, polished appearance. This process not only improves the look of the finished piece but also increases comfort and durability, making it a key step in producing high-quality handcrafted leather goods.

Hand Stitching

Hand stitching using the traditional saddler’s stitch is a core leatherworking technique, valued for its strength, durability, and refined finish. Created with two needles working through the same hole from opposite sides, this method forms a secure, balanced stitch that won’t easily unravel if damaged. Widely used in high-quality leather goods, the saddler’s stitch not only enhances longevity but also gives each piece a distinctive, handcrafted character.
